Within our internal system at the store, we have the ability to run a basic report to highlight our bestselling items. It changes throughout the year – some items tend to be seasonal, some new items are released and shake things up, etc. But there is a leading product that has not been dislodged from the top 3 in my entire career with Central Vacuum Stores. The Imperium CV300 Central Vacuum Power Unit is almost our constant bestselling product and it’s time you know why.
The Imperium CV300 is such a big seller for one, key reason: price. Compared side-by-side with similar power units, the CV300 can be $100-$250 cheaper. It’s pretty remarkable.
What keeps the CV300 so affordable is the manufacturing specification. You’re not paying for a brand name that produces everything under the sun (like NuTone, Electrolux, or Honeywell.) While those brands certainly are more famous, they’re a household name because they make a wide assortment of household goods. They don’t specialize in central vacuum systems. Imperium, however, is only a central vacuum system brand: it’s all they manufacture. And because they are so specific, you’re getting a superior product for significantly less money. It’s really a no-brainer.
Compared To The Competition, There Is No Competition
So why is the CV300 such a fantastic Imperium? Power/Price.
The CV300 has an incredible 740 air watts. That’s enough power for a home or office up to 7,500 square feet. Let’s take a look at the CV300 alongside some competitors:
You can see that compared to a Beam power unit and a NuTone power unit, the Imperium CV300 has greater air watts, more CFM, and is still significantly less money. For the price, you won’t find a more powerful central vacuum than the CV300.

The Imperium CV300 also features some high-end construction quality. For example, the NuTone canister in our above comparison is made of plastic. The CV300 features all-steel construction. The unit is made with galvannealed steel (combining the processes of galvanization and annealing which produces a very fine matte finish that acts like a primer and is very rust proof) and a superior powder coated finish. This is a unit that will resist rust and corrosion for years and years.
Here’s another quality comparison:
Shown To Actual Scale
The Imperium CV300 features a powerful, 5.7″ Ultra, 2 Stage, Flow Thru motor manufactured by Ametek-Lamb. This is what gives this unit so much air watts and water lift. When you compare it to the above NuTone motor, it’s obvious which is going to produce more suction! And yet – the CV300 is over $100 less!
Additional Imperium CV300 Features
Something else customers really love is the utility inlet included right on the power unit. This allows for immediate usage wherever the canister is installed. As they’re typically in basements or garages, people love to have the option of a direct connection to the vacuum in order to powerfully clean those locations. Just simply plug in your hose and you’re ready to vacuum your workbench, your car, or clean up the basement sports equipment!
The CV300 has an extra larger, 6.25 Gallon dirt capacity and accepts paper bags for easy cleaning. You can choose between the Micro-Lined paper bag (one is included with your purchase) or an optional Maxflo HEPA paper bag for even better filtration.
Thanks to the high-quality, all-steel construction, the CV300 is also incredibly quiet. At only 58 decibels, the power you’ll experience at the hose isn’t reflected in the noise at the unit. And additionally, the CV300 comes with a 10-Year Warranty to give you some real peace of mind.
And perhaps our favorite feature of the CV300 and all Imperium central vacuum power units – they’re MADE IN AMERICA! Right in Ponca City, Oklahoma by Lindsay Manufacturing, Inc. It’s hard to get any better than that!
